Introducing the 1968 DAF YA616 6-wheel drive military crane vehicle - a true workhorse and a true rarity, with only 148 ever built. This machine is ex-military and has likely been regularly serviced and maintained, ensuring that it is in good working condition and ready to tackle any job. The vehicle Runs, Starts, Drives and Lifts.
This DAF YA616 is more than just a collectible - it is a fully functional piece of equipment, with a 10-ton crane lifting capacity and 20-ton rear recovery winch. It is built to last, pre-dating the era of built-in obsolescence. This means that if a part fails, it can be easily replaced without shutting down the entire machine.
The DAF YA616 was initially built for the Dutch Army in 1959, but this particular vehicle was rebuilt in 1968. It has a 6-cylinder Continental Red Seal R gasoline engine with a volume of 9866 cc, producing 204 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. It also has a 5-speed manual synchronized gearbox, making it a powerful and versatile machine. The vehicle's gross weight varies depending on the version, but ranges from 10,150-15,670 kg.
Despite its impressive capabilities, the DAF YA616 is notorious for its high fuel consumption - 1 liter of gasoline per kilometer was not uncommon. However, the robust construction and enormous pulling power of this vehicle more than make up for its thirst. It is a reliable and durable machine that can tackle the toughest jobs.
This DAF YA616 is also tax and MOT exempt, making it a unique investment opportunity. Whether you are a military enthusiast, a collector, or in need of a powerful and reliable piece of equipment, this vehicle is sure to impress. Don't miss out on the opportunity to own a piece of history.
